Iced In

Yep. Like the rest of the midwest we've had our share of snow and ice this week. Since we didn't loose power, we had what felt like a two day holiday together!

Kyle kept us happily fed with 3 delicious meals! I love the yummy eats and the cooking break this gives me.

He also assembled our new bookshelf. This enabled/inspired me to unpack five boxes worth of books and other stuff - yippie!

Everything is encased in ice, with a dusting of snow on top.

Our view is breathtaking - I'm not good enough with a camera to do it justice!

I can't resist bragging on my hubby a bit! Not only does he take time on top of his full work day to take care of the trash & pick up whatever I need from the store - those are little kindnesses he does year round. Since the storm he has also faithfully taken out and brought me my mail and run things to and from the garage so that I won't have to go out in the ice! Being married to a man who practices servant leadership is a wonderful thing.

Here's another fun thing for us. On Sunday Kyle assembled the easel his sister gave us. We're enjoying it tremendously!

Just look at that. In one year she's gone from just signing "milk" to drawing smiley faces! How does this happen?
