Caption Me

Someone has just been introduced to green beans - and loves them! A girl after our very hearts - nothing like fresh veggies. We whipped out the camera and took lots of pictures to catch her reaction - and her long tongue which she stuck out eager for every bite!

Some of her expressions were so funny, they just beg for captions. We thought instead of posting our own, we'd do a little contest, of sorts. Leave your captions in the comments area, and next week I'll put up my favorites.

And now, for our "Caption Me" pictures:

#1

Every time I try to yell for help, the spoon comes back!

#2

To spit, or not to spit, that is the question.

#3

So there are flying saucers.

#4

Want some, Dad?

Where we've been . . .

Well, were back now from a week long (for Alaina and I) trip up to Zion to stay with Grandpa Bud while Gramma Glenna was getting hip surgery. Didn't get many pictures, but here are a few.

The big event of the weekend was that Nate, Haley and Matthew all got baptized! It was such a delight to hear each of them give their testimony of their own personal relationship with Jesus.

It's exciting for me to see God at work in each of their lives. You three are such a blessing to me!

Monday was Gramma's surgery. Many people were praying, and everything went very well. Yea! The surgery also brought some visitors, which was fun for me. Andrew came up to visit on several nights.

Cindy and Ken, Mom's cousins from Texas. It was so fun to talk over dinner!

Alaina LOVED all the attention!

Another shot with the handsome, bronzed sailor-uncle.

A new favorite toy. We could play "Open and Shut" for hours - and Mom couldn't be happier!

Sittin' Pretty

Yep, you read that right. I'm sitting up all by myself now, and it's lots of fun.

Not only that, but after about two weeks of flopping and scooting my way around, I can now crawl to what I want!

It's a whole new, exciting world out there, with lots of things to lunge at! Toes are my new favorite thing to go after.

I've got a lot to say too, mostly "ga ga", "da da" and "mum mum mum" with occasional spits and squeaks.

Summer Supper

How do you get the most out of a beautiful evening, a nice breeze and a yard full of flowers? Have an impromptu picnic, of course!

Recommended fare: hamburgers, corn and fruit smoothies! Isn't summer lovely?

Hello again!

Wow, it's more than a week after the 4th of July, and we haven't posted! No particular reason, it just hasn't happened for a while. We had a great Independence Day, with family, American Trivia, homemade ice cream and "fireworks" being the highlights of the day. Here are my Beloved and I dressed in patriotic colors - Alaina's outfit lasted about 25 minutes. ;-)

Speaking of family, we got to see the D. family, and had a lovely time!

Alaina was pampered by her cousins Taylor and Troy. You two are very entertaining, and you have a hilarious dog. ;-)

It was great to see Sheila and Doug, the only downside being the shortness of our visit! I'm glad we'll be seeing you again soon.

Thanks you guys for being such wonderful hosts! We love you guys!

Remember

"Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is impossible that a nation of infidels or idolaters should be a nation of free men. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains." - Patrick Henry

Little Look Alike

Before Alaina was born, I told Kyle that I thought it would be fun to have a girl that looks like him and a boy that looks like me. Well, it looks like I might have gotten half of my "wish"! I've thought Alaina favored different people in different stages, but now that she is getting her own look, I'm seeing a lot of Kyle in our little sweetheart.

As for a boy who looks like me - well only the Lord knows what will happen down the road!
