Re-fashion: Sweater 2, Corsage in Neutrals

Happy sweater Monday to you all!

This was a fun one! I made the folded rose (there are directions online) and leaves from scraps I already had on hand. I tried serging the edge of the flower fabric, but it was too distracting. So I simply cut out a strip and put fray check on the edges.

In case you're wondering (like my Mom was) where I get time to work on stuff like this with two tiny ones, I'll tell you. First of all, this is what I do for fun. I don't watch TV, I don't text, I'm not on facebook, and sometimes I just don't feel like reading. Also, I work in tiny steps. Ten minutes here, twenty minutes there and the occasional, glorious half hour. I might cut something out while my hubby checks his e-mail after the kids are in bed, or stitch a seam while the cleaning chemicals are working on my toilet. ;-) In the Christmas rush, I've even been known to rip out a seam (yes, I make mistakes) while nursing the baby. And while they may look like it to non-sewers, none of these projects actually take long.
