Baby pictures

Not much to show yet, on the outside.

However, our little girl (or boy, gender was decided weeks ago at conception), has already done a lot of growing! Her (or his) heart has been beating for several weeks already, all of her major joints are functional (shoulder, knees, elbow, wrists and ankles) and her fingers and toes are already growing tiny nails! All this, and much more, while she is still less than 2 inches in size.

Amazing.

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

What the Day Brought Forth

My list for yesterday:

  • Pack away winter clothing
  • Clean bathroom
  • Mow side yard
  • Make biscuits

Well, that's not what happened yesterday! Thursday night our house began acting strangely, with different appliances and outlets refusing to work. Then (right when I had my face all soapy) we lost all our power and water. Bother.

So yesterday, we worked on electrical. Caleb and Elizabeth T. got up at the crack of dawn and came to our rescue, yea! We found the problem (outside the house) .

My list for the day changed slightly.

  • Move all perishable food to the fridge in the store
  • Write letters
  • Find food to eat that does not need to be heated or washed
We are so grateful for the help of friends, for an extra fridge, and for a nice cool day. It was a great day to be without air conditioning! I also have a renewed appreciation for the blessings of electricity. ;-)

Happy Father's Day!

I'm so grateful for a wonderful Father!

There is no man as important in a young girl's life as her Father. He is the one who first shows her what a man should be. My Dad has been important to me in many ways, but especially in forming my security as a young lady. His love and appreciation filled a need in my girlish heart, and gave me self respect, in the very best, most ennobling sense of the word. His support kept me strong, even when my path was more difficult than I had expected. His humble leadership taught me how delightful it can be to follow.

Thank you Dad, for showing me what a Father and a Man was supposed to be. I have been forever enriched by it!

Birth of a New Family!

It was so much fun to attend a friend's wedding this past weekend - especially since it's the first one I've been to since ours! ;-) The delight was doubled by being reminded of each part of our own wonderful day.

Congratulations Lucas and Melissa! We were so happy to get to be a part of this new beginning! May you be blessed by many years of ever deepening love.

Another treat was getting to see family and friends from all across the state!

Faith H. and Haley, next to the lovely (and delicious!) wedding cake.

Bridesmaid/Sister-of-the-Groom Kelli sports her trademark fashion individuality, with sunglasses to match her formal attire. :-) It was fun to hear you sing, and in Spanish too!

Haley and I with Jill R. It was a treat to get to visit with so many friends!

The get-away vehicle filled with buckets, mops and toilet plungers. Too bad the plungers wouldn't stick to the outside of the car, as originally intended! ;-)

Best wishes, you guys!

Too Sweet!

I have to brag on my Hubby a little bit.

He left quite early this morning, before I was even out of bed. Of course he came in to say goodbye, but since I was not going to get up at that hour, we didn't get much time together.

What a surprise to find a little note of scripture and encouragement on top of the yogurt in the fridge - right where he knew I would find it! It was totally unexpected, and has made me smile all day long.

I don't deserve him, but I'm sure glad I have him!

Honey, you're amazing. Wuv ya!

An Evening of Fun!

After the noise and fun of having siblings around all the time, life here can seem a little . . . well, quiet! We like to liven things up, so we were excited to be joined by the B. family for and evening of food, fellowship and fun!

It was great to talk, and we had fun after dinner playing . . .

. . . Apples to Apples - one of the fun games we received as a wedding gift! The little ones also helped us demolish some of the huge supply of popping paper that we have at the moment.

How did we miss getting a picture of Myron and his cute baby boy?

Thanks, Alan, for the cute picture of us! You guys were so much fun!
