Gettin' Corny!

What fun to make my second trip to Richardson's Corn Maze with family and friends! This year we had a gorgeous day for it with sunny skies and just a hint of nip in the air.

There were lots of other attractions for those finished with the maze (or who didn't care to enter!). I got a glimpse of a mini art fair, petal go-carts and a concession stand as well as pumpkin fields, seasonal flowers for sale, and even a mini maze for those who wanted something a little bit easier!

Gettin' the scoop on the maze and the rules. In the morning there was some discussion from first timers as to whether using a map was cheating. Well, with eleven miles of trails in a complex pattern, it was quickly decided that maps were fine! Last year we got lost even with a map, but that's another story.

This year's theme was "Road to the White House". Different colored lines in the picture above are the trails that we walked. The green section of the trails had a corresponding political quiz. If the questions were answered correctly, you were guided to your next check point. For the rest of the maze, you were on your own! It's clearer if you enlare the picture, but a picture of a donkey, an elephant, a flag and the White House were all part of the maze. Very neat!

We ended up splitting into three teams: the competitive guys, the competitive girls, and everybody else! Here, the dauntless explorers venture into the maze. Dad and Haley pose for one last picture, since they may not see each other again for a very long time. ;-)

To be continued . . .

Hopefully we'll soon know who won? Assuming they all did come back out of the maze? I had no idea they could be so BIG! Yikes!
