A Note from Alaina

Greetings, blog friends! I just wanted to say a quick thank you for your kind interest in my life and progress.

<span class=IMG_1971" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOz8a8RKrBcXygb1AwBlrmzrTZOrVabTBPkQiYocW7XnQfBp2xy4x9BnCcnyOSUfPF6xuoDkcPHqfS5FbXvkejkPys6lqf0iiHTB_rhI9lRUdorab7Dckx2fwGNk1uEmioUsIZcXqhcw/?imgmax=800" width="391" height="296">

Thank you also for your kind comments. Mommy won't read them to me, because she's afraid I'll get a big head, and my head is big enough already. It's actually rather heavy, I have difficulties keeping it under control at times.

<span class=IMG_2005" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZSTUji5zGD2FIBXJ7783z6YV-aEwu8IQN5D6HzRkCJVw2BYH-cgNUrxQDG3ARW9xe5jTj9VwYM7nhJeHYo6XeJXQ35_rfiOcYHtl8ZixAGszhe0a39ETQ0UJkvgSoat9V7J835lhp5Q/?imgmax=800" width="375" height="295">

I'm keeping busy, with a full schedule on most days. I've been doing some research into the principle of cause and effect.

<span class=IMG_1987" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7GQMbZjLcVAdgCEZ8ynYB0dSb_YINImq250Ow1TcNReGtqdQ0G0Egqe9tUzKpgAQWkKW9BeeCDH560PCM3rCQzdexIv8Q79ZromY3hGvD-GQOofQPi1il7vaHpi0EyOAFCkdxQlAkzQ/?imgmax=800" width="286" height="377">

I have noticed recently that when my hand comes in contact with a stationary toy, it moves in proportion with the amount of force exerted. This has some interesting connotations which I would like to follow up on.

<span class=IMG_2030" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEildYPlF0OCjqHI3qhr5bd72KQ9Blyn7KUzTCMvnbuwD9rj407HlawfWvAJ4sYXBYp8ey_EofLJxT5Fm1OmRB9ZQRiMaKw7zAw7k6mshRTs9SHryjGW43AvmzhpoUsCcLmc8ATr3PCSbw/?imgmax=800" width="387" height="293">

Unfortunately, my Mother continually interrupts my studies for highly unnecessary cleaning sessions. She is, I regret to say, somewhat of a monomaniac on that topic.

<span class=IMG_1986" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWEibusgSQOyEMmdnKBF7Dw7qozkXYDG-JZDEkdmShA7xATSpc5T4TFW1ICTLflF_VKOVdKF518-WPbicVsIgAjVp6VRp0aNhBVC5GdTWUqIyEkBsd0OTWuB4Nu7wrEFP_JvpTA0yAGw/?imgmax=800" width="288" height="380">

For example, only yesterday, when I was in the midst of some most important observations, I was whisked away. For what, you ask? A pressing interview? A national crisis? No, a bath. It's so provoking!

<span class=IMG_2012" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1uaUgSYopC4yi2Rl0IOtYFJtoGdrxd1JOMCMXOYAG0OyxZ-cw76Q7Xnr76fT90X8aqUELiV8r5A3w_x77-OCZNGCtus2E_JYC2hiF8h_aAhq1e3vgRGFNCIoPcxGQm_MQIIrHRyBz6Q/?imgmax=800" width="387" height="293">

Of course I voiced my objections in the most forcible manner, although I must admit that splashing one's feet in warm water is not altogether unpleasant.

<span class=IMG_1977" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg8WW-YkRdiGxOwJoQOq6yb5C3mI1sO72-QsLUYZCVwCnJxM2ZZ2l30jHjOE9mvvqDweoXdqIywxcnahCv1c9uGCfI2zs12aHtUovZ2fTrTeZNEqsp2DckOZw7Yllnh7H_cx1HEzmIkQ/?imgmax=800" width="382" height="290">

This whole changing of clothing, however, is an experience I totally abhor. Altogether, the experience is an exhausting waste of time and energy.

<span class=IMG_1991" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwAbJjTHbpl9JXQlKi2ccBh0mKwootudaMI6OnbccRpxQYi8PTnLO639OlofoNhL7L3tjKRKqu-aqs8m38kQ_iqJK4ZYfxG4VLdPNJFgQ2ovmy_Cf7AGhIOGirQuvvQLyv_so7vQ4GAg/?imgmax=800" width="385" height="292">

Despite these trials, I wish to assure you all that I remain in good health and spirits. I will keep you posted on the progress of my research. Have a lovely day!

Sincerely yours, Alaina

Oh, my poor Alaina- things will get better in the future and one day, like your mother herself dicovered, changing clothes is one of a girls favorite things to do.
In no time at all you will have more energy than you will know what to do with. And sooner than they know, you will spending way too much time in the bathroom attending to girly things like hair, makeup and which outfit should I wear today.
The head thing gets better over time, too.
Make sure your parents keep the pics coming- from a totally devoted fan...

I love picture #2! Those cheeks are absolutely adorable, Alaina. I'd have to say your mommy is doing a pretty good job keeping us all updated, but do you know how hard it is waiting until we get to see you in person? It's torture!

See you (oh, and your parents too) soon!

I agree with my mom...Gretchen is a perfect mom to a little girl!

Alaina...you can come join your friends Miles and Luke. They disliked changing clothes so much when they were your age!

Keep the pictures coming! Actually why don't you bring her to zion!!!

I enjoyed the narrative, obviously this is one bright girly-girl! Sounds like mommy is having a lot of fun being a mommy. How wonderful for both of you (and Daddy)! Thanks for the lovely pictures and "stories". Especially like the last pic with that big smile and kissable cheeks! Sue B.

Oh, we loved it - the pictures, the letter and everything! We both laughed, oohed and aahed over the adorable pictures. How sweet the last one is of her precious little smile. Of course, we loved the one of her with the teacup, too. Oh, what fun you must be having being a mommy!

We're looking forward to meeting Alaina sometime and seeing her mommy and daddy again. :-)

Hi Gretchen~

I haven't been able to figure out who Alaina looks like before today...in the pictures with her mouth open where she's either smiling or crying, she looks like you :)
