Girl Time: Rockhome Gardens

What a treat to have Haley and Sandy W. down for a few days! I had SO much fun, and it gave us the chance to explore some of the local attractions. We did so many things in three short days, the first one being a visit to Rockhome Gardens.

They had a World War II reenactment going. We were the first ones of the weekend to ask about the significance of the "Kilroy was here" sign. I guess Kilroy popped up on crates all over the globe about that time!

We got to see a lot of period equipment and weaponry. My favorite gadget was the personal light - blackout compatible!

Gas saving option?

The gardens themselves were lots of fun as well. I know Haley got some great flower shots!

Okay, we're not THAT tall! This was a miniature gazebo.

Some of the rock formations were really clever!

There were lots of pretty picture spots .

Hummm . . .

There were also lots of fun things for, ahem, kids. Our first home? Thankfully not!

We had to end our visit with pictures in the famous chair. I have pictures here with Grandma Glenna from when I was about eight years old! Little did I know that I'd be living in the area someday. ;-)

Looks like you guys had a great time! I am having the hardest time spelling and typing today. *sigh* My fingers are getting all mixed up. You should have seen what I originally typed....

That looks like so much fun! I love the picture of you and Kyle in the gazebo. I'm glad it was a small one. :D

We enjoyed seeing your pictures from Rockome Gardens. We were just at Rockome a few days ago for their annual quilt show. Hopefully next time we are up that way we will have time to fit in a visit with you! :-)
